A small bar. A shared web.
Install GoodWeb once in your public page template, then check it before your website joins discovery.
Get your website’s snippet
Open My websites, choose your approved website and find “Install the discovery bar”. Copy the two lines shown there. Each website has its own public identifier.
Add it to your public pages
In an HTML template, paste it immediately after the opening
<body>tag. In a website builder, use its custom-code setting for the start of the body. The platform must allow JavaScript; a text block that prints the code on the page will not work.Use the public-page template so it appears on your homepage and nominated pages. Exclude checkout, account, private and sensitive pages. Keep one copy per page.
Publish and look at the result
The bar belongs above your website content, in normal page flow. Open your homepage and at least two nominated pages on desktop and mobile. Check that the links work, all five actions stay visible and your own navigation remains usable.
The shared script updates automatically. Your website remains usable if GoodWeb is temporarily unavailable.
Request the installation check
Return to your website dashboard and select “Check bar installation”. Checks run through a queue, usually on the next ten-minute worker run. Refresh the status to see the result. An operator also checks visibility before activation.
If the bar does not appear
- Confirm you published the change and used your website’s exact snippet.
- Check that your builder did not remove the script tag.
- Clear your website’s page cache, then refresh the browser.
- If you use a Content Security Policy, allow the script and arrival connection from the GoodWeb origin shown in your snippet. Keep your other protections enabled.
- Look at the last check’s reason in your dashboard. A network timeout can be retried; a missing script needs an installation change.
Installation checks are diagnostics. They do not certify your website against hacking.
